System Orientation and Training

An Introduction
Midwest Telephone Systems' implementation plan includes a comprehensive system orientation and training program. Midwest Telephone Systems' training enables employees to perform their jobs more productively through effective use of the new system. The objectives of this program are:

To ensure a smooth and organized transition to the new communications system.

To assure total understanding, confidence and acceptance of the system by all members of the organization.

To ensure all benefits are fully realized with maximum utilization of the system's features and capabilities.

Your Account Manager
Your Account Manager is responsible for planning and implementing a training program using the configuration and programming information already collected. This familiarity with the customer allows the Account Manager to prepare a training program which accurately addresses the customer's needs.

Account Manager's work closely with the customer on scheduling, format, size of classes, etc. Scheduling is designed to minimize disruption of customer operations. Our experience has taught us no two customers' needs are alike. This is why we offer the ultimate flexibility in training.

Console User Training
Console operators receive individualized training before, during and after the system is put into service on your premises, with your new console.

For larger Key/Hybrid and PBX systems, pre-installation training may be conducted using a fully operational console under simulated conditions. This gives the operator an accurate feel for the console and how calls are processed. As the system is put into service and incoming lines are switched to the system, your Account Manager will remain alongside the console attendant to provide assistance and instructions where needed. Account Manager's may also monitor incoming traffic via an auxiliary console headset to ensure calls are processed quickly and efficiently.

Frequently, the console operator is the first called on by employees with questions regarding the operation of extension telephones. For this reason, Midwest Telephone Systems encourages console operators to attend individual extension user training sessions to familiarize themselves with the operation of extension telephones and their features.

Extension User Training
Individual extension users' training is done using live telephones. Each user will experience firsthand the system's features. Special emphasis will be placed on those features considered most important to individual needs. Your Account Manager is happy to spend extra time with users requiring additional instruction and training before, during and after the system is put into service.

Training Aids
Midwest Telephone Systems supplies easy to understand manuals for training sessions and easy reference. Where applicable, manuals are custom designed to include special dialing instructions, access codes and other pertinent information that are especially useful for 'in-house training programs. Consult your Account Manager for more details regarding video training.

Advanced End User Training
Midwest Telephone Systems offers customers post-cut training to enhance user skills with their new system. This training is free to customers who have signed a maintenance agreement. Midwest Telephone Systems recommends annual training for new employees and to update current users.

Midwest Telephone Systems' manufacturers offer specially structured end user training seminars to meet advanced educational and training needs of corporate telecommunication management personnel. Normally conducted in the manufacturer's corporate headquarters training facility, these sessions cover areas such as advanced system programming, network evaluation and optimization, technical training, et al. These special end user seminars are scheduled on an as needed basis at additional cost to the end user. For more details contact your CSR.
